Build the atom KIT "medieval-town-v2" for a late-medieval northern European town: the parts that make BARNS, and the
material upgrades that make roofs and walls look hand-made and aged instead of cheap and perfect. Reference: sheet.jpg
here (pen drawings from the video "How medieval towns actually looked"; F = craftsmen houses and cottages, I = half-timber).
Render in the existing medieval kit look (read ~/forge-build/forge-assets/browse/kits/medieval/kit.json, kit_sheet.png
and jobs/medieval-atom-kit-v1/build_kit.py and jobs/medieval-town-v1/README.md, read-only).
Your dir: /root/fal-author/medieval-town-v2/ on gex44 (here: ~/forge-build/forge-assets/jobs/medieval-town-v2/).
Houses and barns are assembled by code (walls from material panels, roofs laid from tile strips). You make add-on atoms
and materials; the code places them. Frames: +Y up, metres, facade atoms face +Z out of the wall, wall outer plane Z=0.

The operator's complaints this kit answers (8 Oct 2026): "Roof texture is super cheap", "a lot of the houses look too
perfectly geometrical", "texturing is lacking overall", "I see no barns".

Atoms (name: size W x H x D in metres, origin rule). FROZEN: code is being written against these names right now.
- barn_door_double: 3.4 x 3.8 x 0.35, a big double plank barn door with strap hinges and a timber lintel, one leaf
slightly ajar is fine. Same frame as door_plank (bottom centre of the clear opening 3.0 x 3.5, exterior plane Z=0,
  surround proud >= 15 mm).
- barn_loft_door: 1.3 x 1.5 x 0.6, a hay loft hatch with a hoist beam projecting above it (beam may stick out 0.6 m).
Origin bottom centre of the clear opening 1.1 x 1.3.
- barn_vent_slit: 0.25 x 1.0 x 0.2, a narrow ventilation slit in timber. Same frame as window_small.
- tile_strip_aged_a, tile_strip_aged_b: same size, frame and repeat as tile_strip_a / tile_strip_b in the medieval kit
(read their bounding boxes and the origin rule in kit.json and copy them EXACTLY so code can swap one for the other)
but hand-made: tiles individually a little rotated, lifted and of uneven length, some chipped, colour varies tile to
tile (vertex colour or a per-tile UV offset into a varied atlas), lichen/moss patches on a few. Budget <= 1.5x the
triangles of tile_strip_a. Material Clay_tile_aged (new).
- ridge_tile_aged: same frame and size as ridge_tile_round, uneven and mortared.
- grime_skirt: 1.0 x 1.2 x 0.02, a vertical decal strip for the foot of a wall: dirt splash, damp and moss fading upward
to transparent (alpha blended material Grime_skirt). Origin bottom centre on Z=0, faces +Z. Tileable along X.
- hay_cart: 1.8 x 1.9 x 3.2, a two-wheel farm cart with hay. Origin ground centre, long axis Z.
- trough: 1.8 x 0.6 x 0.6, a wooden or stone water trough. Origin ground centre.
- barrel_stack: 1.6 x 1.4 x 1.0, three barrels on a low rack (tavern front). Origin ground centre.
- trestle_table: 2.0 x 0.8 x 0.8, a tavern table with two benches as one atom (2.0 x 0.8 x 1.8 overall is fine). Origin
  ground centre.

Materials (new, each a full PBR set like the shelf: BaseColor sRGB, Normal OpenGL, ORM, 1024 px, tileable, physical
repeat noted in materials.json):
- Clay_tile_aged: warm red-brown clay, colour varied, soot and lichen, used by the aged tile strips.
- Barn_plank: weathered vertical boards with gaps and nail lines, silver-brown, 1 m repeat across X and 2 m in Y.
- Plaster_aged_white, Plaster_aged_ochre: lime plaster with stains, hairline cracks, darker near the bottom (the code
uses them on wall panels instead of today's clean plaster; same repeat as Plaster_white).
- Oak_frame_aged: dark weathered oak with splits and grey bleaching.
- Grime_skirt: the alpha decal above.
- Thatch_reed_light: same maps as Thatch_reed (jobs/medieval-town-v1) but a LIGHTER golden-grey reed (today's thatch
reads near-black from the air), same repeat.
Reuse shelf names otherwise (Rubble_stone, Oak_frame, Wrought_iron, Clay_tile, Door_paint...).

Triangle budget: whole kit <= 30k; hay_cart <= 5k; barn_door_double <= 2k; everything else <= 2k.
test_house.png: render (1) a barn assembled from Barn_plank wall boxes 10 x 6 m, 4.5 m walls, a 50 degree roof of
tile_strip_aged_a/b with ridge_tile_aged, barn_door_double on the long side, barn_loft_door in the gable, two vent
slits, hay_cart in front; (2) a 3-bay half-timber house corner with Plaster_aged_white infill, Oak_frame_aged timbers,
grime_skirt along its foot and an aged tile roof; (3) the same house with today's tile_strip_a roof beside it for a
before / after; (4) barrel_stack, trestle_table, trough. Also a close-up of the aged roof at 45 degrees from 4 m.
